Overview.

Monkey Haven is TripAdvisor’s No 1 attraction for the Isle of Wight. We have been working closely with their small team over the past few years to rebrand the park, signage, website, and all their marketing materials. We also created the content for an App. In 2019, Monkey Haven won a Best Told Story award from VisitEngland for all the communication materials that we’ve worked on.

Identity

Monkey Haven felt that their image was too earnest, and didn’t reflect the enjoyment that visitors have when they visit the park. They asked us to create a relaxed and informal look and feel, that focused on fun, but didn’t lose sight of the park’s serious intent as an animal sanctuary. We devised a bright colour palette and a series of hand-drawn illustrations that are used throughout the park, on the website, and in their marketing materials. The refreshed new image coincided with a name change for the attraction – from Owl & Monkey Haven, to the snappier and more memorable Monkey Haven.

Marketing materials

We designed the 2015 advertising campaign for the attraction, which appears in a range of Island publications, as well as a double roll-fold DL leaflet that is stocked in tourist information points and ferry terminals.

Guidebook

We created a new visitors’ guidebook – the Gorgeous Guide – that’s packed with interesting information about the creatures at the Haven. We also designed ‘treat trails’ for children to keep them entertained.

Website.

We worked closely with the team to create a lively e-commerce website with lots of jokes, hand-drawn graphics and wonderful photography. People can now adopt an animal online – and this has already proved to be successful. The site was launched in March 2015.
